Neighbor's sweet corn is ready. He plants half an acre then invites the neighbors to share.

I'm partial to the honey and cream, but beggars can't be choosers.

Very good looking corn. So nice of him to share with you all.
One of our favorite ways to prepare fresh corn. Pull husk down to bottom of the ear but do not tear off. Remove all the silk. Return the husk. Soak it for about 30 min in lightly salted water. Drain and shake off excess water. Grill for 12-15 min without lighting the husk on fire(lol). Turn husk down and apply a generous amount of butter and sprinkle with your favorite Cajon or Southwest spices on.
Soo good!

This was just boiled, butter and season salt. 30 minutes from field to table. 😋

I was raised on golden cross bantam corn. Now my favorite is honey and cream. When I moved from north to south Jersey in the 70s was the first time I ever saw white corn.

I used to go fishing every July in Alaska. We would load up a cooler With fresh corn and take up to our guides and B&B host. They were standIng there drooling every year waiting for us to show up. Always had the grill cleaned and ready.

Pretty close knit rural community here. We try to help each other out. Many times we get together to plant or harvest for a neighbor who is injured or sick.

We went to a resort for many years and would take a cooler of pork from our farm. Very much appreciated.

Yep, even though I live in the People's Republic of Johnson County, liberal mecca of Iowa. Get 1 mile outside the city limits and it is a different world.
