My name is Riley and I am new to the forum, I mostly fish tawakoni and Lake Fork, but would love to find a lake in the DFW area to take my 8 year old granddaughter to.
If you fish the two lakes I mentioned above then you know it take a lot of patience to get through a day of fishing, and an 8 year old just doesn't have it.
I have to find a place that suits her age (and attention span) so she can have a fun experience, and catch some fish.
She loves driving the boat so being on the water is not a problem for her.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I know it's not the DFW area, but your other thread on Lake Aquila would suggest that is within your realm of fishing. I would think that's a perfect starter lake for an 8-yr. old. What is it, about 1or 2 hrs. away?
You can google the DFW area for kids there is a lot of information there

Hey R57. Where in the DFW area are you, Lewisville Lake is in that area. Several others are also. Just need to know where you are to give other lakes near you.
