Hello to all,
I guess I'm supposed to introduce myself and not really sure what to say..
I'm 63yrs old and have lived and fished fla since my dad started me at around 6 yrs old. Born in tarpon springs, fla but grew up in west palm beach, fla.and have fished from sebastian to key west all my life. I focus mostly on snook, snapper, tarpon, permit and pompano. I still love to do some freshwater. Mostly specks...or crappie as they call them north of here.
Looking forward to hearing and learning about fish and areas I've never caught or been and also from fellow floridians if any are here.
Thanks for listening

There are quite a few nicstr. Welcome to the stage. If you really want to hear from those other Floridians, go back into your profile and add your city and state to the location field. That way everyone will know where you're at each time you post. You will get many more responses to you post if you will please do that. And remember, we love photos.

Welcome nicst I'm originally from Vero Beach Fl. myself but live in Cape May NJ now. We still have a home there. I am like you, love to saltwater fish, but do target specs in freshwater.

Hello Mike. I was living in stuart before I came over to the west coast to help take care of my mother. Did a lot of fishing in vero. Also worked for a builder/developer and had a few communities up there in vero.
I do like freshwater fishing and have a buddy who does the pro bass tourn thing and wants me to team up with him. Hes doing very well and I'd join him in a second if i wasnt kinda tied down with my mother. He does a lot of traveling but so far hes won 2 boats and i dont know how much money but hes having a blast and knows all the guys you see on tv.
What do you fish for up there? Bass? There is a lke here called Lake Tarpon i want to try for specs. I hear 10-12 pound bass are pretty common. It's just down the road but i havent fished it yet. I fish out of a gheenoe and I hear the lake can get pretty rough but I'm going to give it a shot this winter.

Hi Nicstr, I fish mainly for Fluke (flounder), Seabass, Trigger fish, Tog or Black fish and the big drum which only come in in May thru June. We have to fish for whatever is open at the time. That would be fluke right now. Actually have a fishing trip for tomorrow. Wish me luck. Lol.. The Tuna bite has been red hot so far this year, but I haven't personally targeted those. But know people who do. I can understand your situation with your mom. We have a similar one, only taking care of her brother. We do what we have to I guess. You take care, and it's been good talking to you! Good luck, and tight lines!
