Limit of Walleye & a couple cats

Had a pretty good morning. Released 4 big cats and 4 other walleyes. Our limit is 6 walleye on this water. Only 1 can be over 24”. The 2 walleyes were 22”. Kept 2 of the smaller cats to eat and the 6 walleyes and left by 9:30. It was already 89 when I left.

Most people have quit fishing for them up here. First of June there were 30 boats playing ring around the rosie trolling between 30 more boats jigging. Was a little lonesome today there were only 5 of us crazies out there and its Saturday.

Nice catch Hunt, its good to get it done and get off the water before the sun gets too high,and you roast.

Good job, Huntm22. Do they quit fishing walleye because of the outside temp. or because the walleye go deep?

Kinda both. The temp is getting up to near 100 daily and 75-80 at night and with the shad hatch the walleye slow way down on the bite. I had thought if I caught 1 or 2 I would be doing good - so surprise me. A couple of the other regulars out there - most had caught 1 and maybe a couple cats. I must have been the right spot at the right time. Some days you get lucky.

Thx and the wind only blew hard for an hour or so and then settled at about 5-6 mph. Can go for that its the 12-15+mph every day that sucks. Did you get out?

Sweet good catch good job! What lake you fishin’.? Share what they were hitting on?
