Was at a tourney and didn’t count the mandibular pores. Just measured and got it back in the water. Thought initially that it was a pike then looked at the picture and there is some debate as to wether it was a pike or Muskie. Let me know tour thoughts! IL, Bangs Lake.

I think it's a pike honestly but I see why you would be debating musky. Pikes my guess though. Nice catch man.

Right?! Pointy dorsal fin, rear fins more pointy than rounded. Color obviously.... cheek scales more prevalent on top half only... it’s a mystery haha

I would also bet it’s a pike. From my experience I catch pike that have less colouration when I’m fishing deeper waters. Could be the depth and lack of cover that makes them loose their camouflage.

Maybe haha. I’ve caught one last year on another lake in IL. I don’t think they are quite as rare as people portray. Either that or I fish a lot.

Could be a hybrid? Like a Tiger?

Technically could be since that is a real hybrid that exists, but this is not a tiger.

Silver pike is my guess. Fins are more rounded than a musky.

hard to see, but lack of spots, and probably light vertical lines my guess is a small muskie.
