Thought maybe it was because they were made in China. But even american brands are gone. Line hooks etc

Everyone is/was buying up everything to get outside and do something while everything was closed down, suppliers mostly stopped producing for a while so there's a massive shortage throughout the country

Thank you. I wasn't sure if all the product was made in China and they had stopped shipping to us. Wonder why suppliers would stop producing

Not sure if you have any local hardware stores in your area, but we have the same situation here. Bass Pro/Cabelas and Wally world all picked bare. Yesterday we drove 20 minutes down the freeway to a smaller town with a hometown hardware store and found what we needed.

Its so weird. I have an ace hardware near me its also all gone. I thought about driving to bass pro. Glad I didn't. Is there any explanation for the shortage other than supply issues. I know this is crazy conspiracy minded but I feel like the government doesn't want people catching their own fish. Is that whacky

Couldn't say really. Probably just that perfect storm of people being tired of being locked up as well as production and delivery issues. Sometimes the supply and demand levels takes a while to balance out... Like with the TP/Sanitizer shortages.. Everyone goes out at once and buys the stuff but the system wasn't ready to resupply for the overload. I feel the pain as my kids just got into fishing and my mother in law lives on a private lake that produces massive crappies and nice bass. Trying to get them setup with their own gear and tackle has required lots of travel.
Or maybe its because the government doesn't want people to be able to enjoy life and support themselves. I can get behind that idea too.
Our local Dicks Sporting goods also still had a good selection, might be worth checking those out if you have any local.

I've been ordering my tackle online, direct from the manufacturer.

I kinda gave up on eBay when they had yeast on there for $10 a pack when it's normally $1. Seems like people have been really taking advantage of covid shortages. I will check out there fishing supplies. Thank you

During the beginning of the shutdown, factories closed, distributors closed, and retailers sold everything that was already in the pipeline. Manufacturers of fishing tackle are not considered essential businesses. Also all imports were halted. From what I've seen, the delivery companies are doing a terrible job. I've tracked packages that took 5or6 days to get out of the state where the warehouse is,then has to cross the country. They will get caught up in time.

I was in a sportsman’s warehouse on Sunday and many an isle was picked clean. Cashier says that there suppliers can’t fill the orders for them
Same experience that are Walmarts power bait even gone all of it all colors I have no idea what’s going on but I don’t think it’s because of breezy fishing pressure
Seems like a lot of other goods are getting that way too.
