So I'm on the fence about trying braid on a baitcaster. What's the easiest knot to tie a leader on braid with. I was considering 40 lb power pro with a 20 lb fluorocarbon leader. Any advice would be appreciated.

I use an Albright knot and it holds up well but double uni knot if you want it to be stronger

Double uni is easy but a little bulky. FG knot is the thinnest knot and strong but a little tricky to tie.

Uni guy myself, only failed me once when a monster hit me within 5' of the yak. No time to react it just hit me hard and snap.
I do 6 - 8 wraps on each line, wet and pull together and end up with a 2' leader. Leave that much exposed from the end of the rod and don't have to worry about the knot going through any eyelets.
I've found the easiest (and quickest) is to tie a perfection loop in the braid, tie any simple loop that won't slip in the end of your leader, pass the leader loop and leader through the braid loop, and you're hooked up. Easy to take apart too if you want to change over to some something else.

I totally agree with the FB/FG knot because it ties the thinest knot joint. It is a little difficult to learn to tie properly, but once you have tied it a few times it becomes second nature to tie.
2 and 1/2 ft. leader length. A 6 turn surgeon knot because it does not go through the rod guides.
Can tie this knot very easy and fast.
I agree, the double uni. Very easy to tie.

Alberto knot. Small and strong, passed through guides no problem.
GT knot. Resembles the double uni, but a little easier to tie.
I use and recommend the double uni knot. It is easy and very strong. There are great videos on YouTube about how to tie this knot and many other knots as well. Just do a search on YouTube for the double uni knot.
Agree with GLC. Use the GT knot (just search the net for ‘gt knot’ and you’ll find videos on how to tie. It’s been tested as stronger than any of those listed above, and with a little practice you’ll find it pretty easy to tie!
