Right now I use a spinning reel should I look into a bait castor or would it just be a waste of money and not worth it?

I have both and personally I think they're mostly the same. I just like the baitcaster because it looks cool.

I see what you mean if you fish with a bait castor put on one of those pro fishing shirts I mean other then the 100,000k bass boat you’re a pro pretty much

I use my baitcaster for heavier lures.

So heavy lures u should use a bait castor would you consider throwing frogs a heavy lure

Depends on the size of the frog. But, yea, I would throw frogs on it. The best part about the baitcaster is that you could cast it farther than a spinning reel.

And way more accurately

Bait caster = accuracy but best for 1/4oz and up
Spinning = simplicity and better for light lures

It depends on a couple things. The first is what baits you are casting. Normally you cast heavier lures or plastics with a bait caster. That being said I can cast a 4 inch senko farther than spinning rods casting heavy jigs on my bait caster. One thing though about baitcasters is that reels matter a lot more and it you buy a cheap reel then it won’t cast good.

If I got a bait castor dicks sporting goods has a combo for like 80 usd and would you consider frogs and stuff heavy

For sure you need it for frog fishing. You need braid for that also. 50 lb braid and set the hook as hard as you can on a frog bite. Like you are trying to break it. Trust me, I've lost 5 fish because i had 14 lb mono on my baitcaster for frogging. It was a stupid rookie mistake.

Assuming you you want 40 pound braid on spinning reels to maybe that why I lost so many fish on a frog last week

The one you lube with castor oil takes more practice.
It can depend are you fishing from shore and using a bait and sinker or are you fishing with lures. If you are just fishing for fish like Catfish and using dead bait a spinning reel my be all you need but if you are casting lures and bass fishing then a casting reel is the only way to go.
