OK, good info! I've used vinegar forever, but interesting about the damage that could incur. I'll try the WD40; it's been setting in my shop forever since I read about it's poor use in lubing fishin' equipment.

Wet a piece of aluminum foil and rub off the rust. Works on just about anything with a rust stain.

Magic erasers ( Clorox) , an eraser for pencils,must be clean. Both work.

Cleaning Lures: I’ve always used WD-40, and it doesn’t repel fish. I’ve actually read an article where it attract them(believe it was in Bass Magazine 2012).
