Kokanee fishing was slow today, but couldn't keep the rainbows off! Hooked this 20" fatty clear down at 45' trolling.
Yes you did get a dandy thanks for sharing
The lake I fish for rainbows and smallies in the spring has got Kokanee in it. The browns follow the Kokanee schools around and forage. You find the Kokanee, you find the browns. That true where you fish also? Nice one. Thanks for sharing.
That is Detroit Reseivoir Oregon , Willamette Valley. There are no browns in the lake just rainbows. Just over the mountains (Cascades) most of the lakes have both Kokanee and Browns and yes that is true..
Those browns get fat on the Kokanee!

Nice ‘bow.
Do you use braided line for trolling with the downriggers?

Maynard, yes I use 30 lb braid.
Nice rainbow. We haven't been up to Detroit yet this year but it's one of our favorite.
Thanks Bdubya.
I use 30 lb braid as well. Typically 8 to 10 pound flourocarbon leader about 25’ long.
Oh yummy broiled with lemon pepper.
