Caught a 9lb15oz LM on a live minnow up in clear lake several years ago we were anchored on our favorite spot when a boat pulled up,a man asked if he could throw an umbrella rig on our spot, told him to throw it,Icast my minnow just behind his rig and hooked a 9-lb 15 oz Larga mouth.now that is fishing.

Got to start this by telling you that my dad was always lucky, especially at fishing. We were fishing on Osakis lake MN a couple weeks after ice out. The water was cristal clear and we were both using Shannon twin spinners. A big northern pike came racing in and grabbed my lure, spit it out and shot over and grabbed his! After he passed away, I got some of his rods and reels. All the big cat fish I and grandkids have caught have been on his poles.

Interesting to me you mentioned the twin Shannon spinner bait. My dad and I were night fishing for largemouth bass one night when he caught a 2 3/4 lb crappie on a white twin Shannon spinner. You are the first person I have heard mention that bait by name in over 60 years! Anyway, seems your dad really had a special kind of luck to have the fish spit your bait and take his!!

Hi Mr. Rutinbuck,
Very nice fish and pictures, we had to look up "twin Shannon spinner bait".
Very interesting, they go back to the 1930's. They obviously are good lures!

Hi Ms Zoey. That fishing trip took place in June 67. Them lures worked well. You can still buy them on ebay.
