Tie it as a Snell Hook. Look up Snell tying , I wouldn't want ot tie them though. But that's just me.
YouTube “how to tie a snell knot”, I think that should work.

Seems like the same knot I tie, but no eyelet on the hook to pass through.
What’s the point?
I would agree with a snell except that the video included on Amazon shows the hook being fly tied. I suppose you could snell tie over the thread but I’m not sure how secure that would be.
Following this.
The point for me is that it's hard to find small (#8 and smaller) barbless hooks. I know, just crimp the barb with a pair of pliers or file the damn thing off. If I could find what I'm looking for I wouldn't have to worry about it.
No, but thank you. Several years ago I bought 100 #8 barbless circle hooks from cabela's. I should have bought 1000. I'd like to buy some more, and they no longer carry them. So that's what I'm looking for. Just about impossible to find small circle hooks like that, much less barbless ones. Kinda like shopping at Costco - soon as you find something you like, they no longer carry it. Like my favorite bbq sauce for ribs and my favorite wine.

Oh yeah. Circle hook also. I haven’t seen those barbless. It does make sense that they would work well.
Well, silly me, since I got them once at Cabela's I figured that was something they carried on a regular basis. Nope. But I haven't surrendered. I'm still lookin.
I hate Barbless hooks but I will use them when required to land a lunker. I like tying my own with fresh line if need be but its trickier to do the older I get to see the line and hook eye without reading glasses. lightest leader possible for trout and salmon because they have great vision. I use 6 or 8 LB on trout or less. Salmon bite 25-50 lb if in the mood. Better line better results. Cats and sturgeon will go for scent. .. still helps to go with smallest and lightest test to get a bite on any targeted species. if get bite after bite should figure out weak point....better bait stronger line etc.
I put leader line through hook eye ( regardless of type or size ) I get 3 or 4 inches of line to wrap around the leader line that will be tied to swivel...wrap it 7 times. put tip of tag end through the opening closest to hookeye then back through the open spot that was just made. always pull it and be sure it synched tight so you will take the fish home. snip tag end off. that's a hand tied hook.
it may be called a double overhand synch knot. It hasn't failed.
