Crabbing on the Washington Coast

I'd like to find someone on the coast who knows a good place to
crab and would join me in my boat to catch some of the critters.
I have traps and rings and a 17' Alumacraft with a 70 hp Yamaha.
I live in the TriCities and fish for all the local species: maybe we
could work out some trade-trips -- crab with you, fish with me.

Welcome to the Forum, Gary. That sounds like a good deal, but it is a little far for me to go. Thanks for the offer.

Well, I've lived in the Tri-Cities for the last 8+ years, but before that I lived near the Oregon coast and did a fair amount of crabbing. What do you mainly fish for around here?

Salmoneater

I fish for walleye and smallmouth, mainly, but I did a lot of
night fishing for steelhead when it was legal. I've fished a lot for
salmon during the Spring runs, and I've caught my share of sturgeon.
In recent years, crappie have drawn my interest. Next week, I'll
do a trip for shad and night fish for walleye. This is all on the Columbia,
but I've also fished bass and walleye in many Washington and Oregon
lakes.

Send me a private message. I am game as soon as this covid thing is over. I have traps, boat and a few extra floats to put your name on and be legal. I have been wanting to fish your area. I drive through to Boise and my brothers in the spring for sm bass and crappie. I would like to target Walleye in your area. I also would like to find a good catfish spot as they are pretty limited on this side of the mountain. I travel with a fishing buddy. I have a camper we stay in. I live and launch in Blaine after Aug. 15 RTKF

Stick with your quest. Dungeness is the best tasting crab bar none. Chicken necks.

I used to live near Indianola on Puget sound. I used to go when the tide was going out at Indianola beach. Excellent Dungeness and Rock crab.
