When you continue to lie to yourself every year for 30 years thinking you’re getting acclimated to the frying pan heat index of Phoenix, nothing like waking up to a cup o crazy. Heading north up to visit the black hills for the summer to beat the heat & meet new friends.

My passion is poetry my love is life,
my motto,,, “every day is a holiday“.
Every day is a gift, so I search and I sift. Only the best do I choose, as I examine and peruse, upper crust for me or nothing at all, I’m all in, and not afraid to fall. We get one shot, at this thing called life. I say, live it to the fullest, without fear or strife!

No mistakes, just happy accidents.

Looking forward with much anticipation to seeing some black on those hills and some brown on those trout! 😎😎😎

Welcome Scott - stay in touch with us, you're gonna fit right in. You'd have loved the navy - everyday a holiday, every meal a feast. Hadn't thought of that in a while. Please be sure to post photos of your journey - we love pictures. Especially of fish, but some of us don't read to good and get bored easily.

Welcome Scott,
I lived in the Hills for a couple years in the late 80s. Beautiful place. Not much black in those hills anymore, due to a bark beetle (very sad), but the rock formations are spectacular. Never caught a brown trout there, but plenty of rainbows, brookies and splake (brook trout/lake trout hybrid). Played golf there from Hot Springs to Spearfish and a few nice courses in between. Have a great time. Give George, Tom, Abe and Teddy my regards 😉

Agreed, we are in troubled times, though. If we tear down our history, or deny it, or fail to learn from it, we may be destined to repeat it...are we not?
Luckily, it is a dry heat 😂
100 degrees there feels like 70 in Milwaukee. Stay hydrated Scott. Safe travels.

We were there the first part of November, 2018. It was cold as a titch’s wit the day we went to Mt. Rushmore, with 20mph winds and light flurries. Once we got off the mountain, it wasn’t bad at all.
