It’s a Heddon lure. I have a couple but not that big. Seems to have glass eyes to. Is it wooden?

Looks to me like a fly swatted, a tape measure and possibly a Creek Chub?

Yes! fly swatter - made in china - - - - - tape measure - not very proud of that, no manufacture's name

Have yet to identify the lure. Granddad was fond of Creek Chub and South Bend. Why the hooks were cut?
No clue. I doubt if he did that, most likely how it was originally sold.

A Skip Jack, top water, good for bass. You twitch and jerk it on the surface, that one appears to be a original wooden lure. The later models were plastic, but still worked very well. We use to take the front blade off to let the back sit a little lower in the water. That is a nice bait. Good collectors item

Also the reason for the missing hooks is to help keep it from hanging on grass weeds, didn't necessarily work. DeeJay

My two cents - I think it's a CC injured minnow. And it's my lure, so til someone convinces me otherwise, it's a injured minnow.

10 bucks for the fly swatter? sold. PM me and we can swap addresses, send the money, I'll get it right off to you. It's even got a couple dead flies stuck to it. Well, some guts anyway. A treasure for sure.

Looking at first and second hooks the cuts look different lengths.

I’ve got one similar pictured for a who knows. South bend made one similar but they used a medal bracket to hold the hooks on a lot of creek chub had screw eyes or wire through eyelets
