Reo
Loc: Eastern Washington
I am Reo. I love to fish and I am fairly new to the Southeastern part of Washington State. I have done a lot of steelhead, salmon, and sturgeon fishing - Columbia and rivers of Washington and Oregon.
Where I am located now - there are a lot of lakes -
I want to try some casting/trolling from my kayak.
What is out there?
Suggested spots, lures, times of day, etc?
Thanks!
Reo: Since I live a long way from Washington, I'm not much help. Hopefully, there should be other members along who do know and will chime in.
Remember, the data you develop personally is the best and most accurate. If I were in your place, I'd take a map and begin a process of elimination. Take your kayak and begin with the closest water, explore. Take a pad and make notes. From there expand your search and research. Take copious notes. If you catch a lot of fish, keep going back. You don't have to explore the whole world. In your place, I would be selfish and just do what satisfied myself. It after all is up to you. Just Sayin...RJS
Welcome to the stage Reo. Lotta good folks on here from your state, don't know how many are from the eastern part though. You'll hear from em I'm sure. Be sure you take your phone with you and take lots of nice photos and post em. We do love photos on here.

Welcome aboard there Reo. Grab ahold and hang on its a ride! I’m sure help will be along shortly.
Welcome Rio to the knucklehead club. Good people here and good info. Fish Dancer is a FS member. He's in Sequim, Washington. Not sure if he is close to you. Stay tuned. There are folks from your state.

Welcome aboard. While I’ve fished numerous lakes throughout the US, Washington State is not one I can be off assistance.
Good luck, I’m sure one of our vast membership will chime in with some tips for you.

Wrong side of the state Greg. I’m about 6-7 hours away.
I’d help you if I could Rio but I’ve never fished your area. If you ever come over to the peninsula get in touch with me and I’ll be glad to go fishing with you.

Reo, welcome. I too fish mostly for Salmon and Steelhead in the Columbia and my local streams, but I do enjoy some lake fishing for trout and Kokanee.
I find the “fish Washington” app to be a valuable tool for locating fishing spots in areas that I am unfamiliar with. When you select the highlighted stream, River, or lake on the map you will be provided with the name of the water feature, the species available and the current regulations and catch limits.
There is a link on the WDFW Website.
Good luck to you!
