Where can I buy a Wacky Worm Fly or, learn how to tie one? If someone is using one I presume an 8 weight would be best?

But it sounded intriguing! Maybe make your millions by making/inventing one. I will help you with the project/proceeds!

Try looking at Dill’s Pickle wacky worm fly - shows how to tie it on you tube.

Ever heard of one either but there are a numbers of ways to tie a worm imitation. The normal way is the Sa Juan worm with or without a tungsten bead. It’s just a section of chenille in red, brown etc. the other way is with soft elastic, plastic worm material. Lay a base, tie in two tiny loops at head and bend of hook with doubled over floss same color as worm, that can be drawn closed as you would a blood knot. Use the threading tool through the loop and hook the plastic worm and draw through. Do the other loop so worm material she’s through both loops and draw them closed. The problem with using this material is that tying threat will cut through it if you use thread to secure to the hook. Floss being wider can snug up without cutting. Adding a bead let’s you fish it deeper where the fish might expect a worm. Another pattern might just use a fatter worm imitation tied behind a bead on a nymph hook. Might use the same trick with the floss to secure the head of the worm.

Hi,
I don't know much about fly fishing, actually nothing. Maybe this is what you are looking for.

I have made worm flies using rabbit fur strips, trimmed down a bit. I tried chenille, but found the rabbit strip was more durable and actually looked better. I haven't tied one wacky style, but it wouldn't be very difficult. The rabbit strips also come in several good colors.

Thanks for being willing to help. As for proceeds: my wife has perfected the process of getting rid of proceeds. Have you ever heard of the Home Shopping Network?😊

Zoey and I are noticing why there are not many females on FS.
We try to fit in but get totally ignored most of the time. It's a boy's club.
Enjoy it.

Beth
Don't ask me what I told Zoey what FS really stands for.
