Good afternoon! My name is Ira M. and I live in Ventura County, CA which is about 1 hour north of LAX Airport. I love to fish both in fresh water and salt water. I have been fishing most of my life and do it as much as I can.

I am currently in Oregon fishing on the McKenzie and Willamette rivers. In 4 trips out, I have caught 2 small rainbow trout - native fish so even if small, they would have had to go back into the water. Not having any luck on the main rivers and the lakes have been way too quiet. We can see fish jumping near us but they aren't biting. I have used several types of power bait, salmon eggs and nightcrawlers. I also have used a bright/shiny spinning lure and caught my fish on it.

If there are any locals here that can help point me in the right direction I'd appreciate tips on what to use, how to rig the gear and any spots where we might have some luck. Thanks for any input you all can offer...
