Hi Guys and Gals, Sarge here. Found the forum and now I can tell a few secrets I've been using for a while. Unlike most other Hard bitten Fishermen, I am willing to share my experience (don't ask for advice, wise men don't need it and fools won't heed it) and happenings I've encountered over more than a few years, but I'll make a cut off and only talk about the last twenty years in Florida. Have owned four(4) powerboats from 24 to 32'. In my old age(chuckle), I settled for a Pristine Mako 284, twin Merc 250's, all the electronics I need plus autopilot(after all dumb John can keep us pointed in the right direction). Installed the 18' outriggers last week, and am trying to find an experienced FIRST MATE. Pompano Beach Area is where the boat is kept. Tight Lines to All. Sarge

Welcome Sarge and all of us try to pass "older" tips and tricks to others here. Each of us know things that others don't. At least that's what I have found with the guys on the site.

Robert; Yes I am, unless the times are right for the reefs and wrecks. I love the sounds of the wind in the rigging and the fire alarm of the drag zinging through the rod eyes or roller tips. Their is also one other benefit amongst many others that really makes the day go well and that is the sounds of the sea as you're cutting through it at 6-8 knots. Now, that is pure serenity. Sarge

Hey Sarge;
What level first mate are you looking for? I'm in Jensen beach and wouldn't mind an occasional drive to Pompano to chase some pelagics. Years ago I had a 25' John Allman and did a fair amount of off shore fishing for Kings, Sails, Mahi, Cobia, etc. I'm 71 and in pretty good shape except a weak knee. A contractor from LI NY. I wouldn't mind sharing expenses.
