I am new at fishing alone and I have alot to learn. So, is there an easy way to get "unstuck" from weeds in a lake you are NOT familiar with? I know it takes MORE patience than what I have so please help me if possible. Thanks so much. Brenda(HawksFan03)

Well,,,,,,,,, if it's your lure, don't throw it there and if it's yak, don't go there. Simple enough.

The lake I fish has a lot of weed and I just throw out and still get bites, usually drag in a lot of weed. Eventually I may clear the bottom on the area I fish
the lure and if I yank too hard I loose everything.Brenda
My hook gets stuck in that fresh water seaweed crap. Thanks. HawksFan03
There are several lures available that are weedless and the Texas and Carolina rig can both be set up to be weedless. I'm not much of a bass fisher. Is that what you're fishing for? What kind of a lure are you throwing that's catching a lot of weed? If you're losing a lot of tackle, you should probably switch to a heavier line. You using mono or braid? I know I got a lot of questions. Trying to cover a lot of solutions.

HF3, I go with Spirit in the weedless jig dept. There are a few on the market have not heard one better then the other. Personally i look for the weeds and then find the edge where they end and fish the length to get the fish coming out attacking bait fish.
Also maybe try a top water bait that doesn't get hung up, provided they will hit on top.

Are the weeds on top of the water? If so there are lots of baits to use there are frogs that are weedless made of soft hollow rubber, or my most favorite, the MossBoss it is a hard plastic spoon that always lands with the hook point up. If the weeds are submerged try a Texas rig with your bullet weight pinned to the front of the worm with a tooth pick in the hole with the line and break it off even with the point of the weight. Tight lines
I agree with plumbob. I’m a big fan of top water lures. There is no greater thrill for a fisherman to see his plug crashed by a nice big bass. I fish retention ponds here in Florida. They can be very weedy and not to deep. It gets to be target practice. Lay it in between the weed lines, work her and watch the crash !! I like to use the wind to my advantage. Aim over there and let wind carry the line. You can make a nice arc around the weed edges. Cover a lot of ground. Tight lines mates.
