Looking at $200 range.

For my entire life I've pretty much just bought cheapo Ugly Sticks and what not, but I've been saltwater fishing a lot from my kayak and want to set up my game. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. I'm noob when it comes to the more technical aspects of fishing.

Depends what your fishing for exactly, and the style of fishing you do. Whether it be bottom fishing, Lure fishing, etc. No rod does everything perfectly but most rods and reels work for everything atleast to an extent minus the line weight vs fish weight aspect.

Are you looking for a do everything type of rod?

I used to kayak saltwater a lot. The spray will destroy your reel. For reels, unless you have the budget to buy sealed reels, buy cheap. Try to stay in the $50-75 range.

Just spray it down thoroughly after use. I have a couple $15 Chinese reels that are still going strong after a year or two of saltwater use

Ande Inshore Tournament Series rods are around $40-50 and they perform excellently, I bought one and the next week I went back to buy 3 more. That leaves you plenty of budget room for a reel, be it Penn battle or pfleuger president, etc.
