Hey everybody! I hope you're all doing well. I joined in the hopes of finding local fishermen from the Milwaukee area for advice. I got the basics down, like rigging and speed. I have a boat in Milwaukee named after my Mother who taught my family to fish and I am just getting started with Downrigger fishing. It's a 26' boat with 4 Big John electric downriggers. I'm hoping to start communication before and after my trips to find out what's hot and to convey what did/didn't work for me. Maybe we could start a group here and a YouTube channel to share useful information?

Welcome to the Forum, S.S. NancyLee. You can try to start a local group. This forum is International, but primarily people from the US are on it. I don't know if Milwaukee has a local fishing forum or not but you could certainly find out by asking the internet. I not aware of a lot of members from the Milwaukee area on here.

Ya, they do have a fishing Forum. It called Lake Link, Milwaukee County, or something like that Maybe you are aware of it. They talk their own lingo. I looked at it briefly and it didn't make any sense to me, but maybe a local can make some sense out of it. Good Luck!

Welcome to the stage S.S.. If you go to the top of this page and click on user list you will see there is a area that you can find folks by location. There are 2 others in your area that you may want to Pm for info. Also if you type in Wisconsin you will find others near you.

As for communicating you have come to the right place. Not always fishing talk but many are willing to listen and help when we can.

Jez, I drink a lot of beer, and what they said didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. They were talking about areas that I'm not familiar with, but I always fish at Stergion Bay or north of there, up by Peshtigo. On the WI. side of Green Bay.

You’re welcome...welcome...welcome! Sorry, had to give you a little grief on the quadruple post. 😉
You can also check the Lake Michigan Fishing Report online.
Cohos ought to be biting now, not sure if Salmon A Rama is going to happen this year, due to CV19, but that is typically in July in Racine.
I’ll get back to you with a report from my buddies.
