Now, I am not the brightest bulb in the string, but if the lakers are a problem and the plan is to remove them...why put sterile lake trout back in to replace them? Do they expect the sterile trout to only eat the food the DNR wants them to? Seems to me...they should try their gill netting AND remove the bag limits on them, or put a bounty on them. We have a few guys on here who may be interested in supplementing their incomes by catching fish. The ones they don’t want to eat can be donated to feed the homeless and others in need. Problem solved.
Send in Egghead. He will vacuum the place in no time.
Check out the story of Lake Davis in California and the northern pike disaster. I don't know. Maybe they learned something?
Macinaw are a great sport fish. CA is ignorant. Got to take everything back to their supreme reside. YUK. In Yellowstone lake they've been spending millions of dollars for years gillnetting horrible invasive lake trout and then turn around and plant non-native wolves. To much intelligence for me to keep up with.
Yellowstone Lake used to the finest cut throat fishery in the world. Then some turd decided to sneak in Lake Trout. Belongs in prison. Senator Al Simpson, Wyoming, suggested that wolves should be introduced into all national parks, starting with Yosemite and the one in Hawaii. Maybe Central Park, too.

The Lake Davis story is heartbreaking. What kind of Mensa does it take to decide to put pike in a place like that? What kind of mensa was in charge of trying to get rid of them?
I can't tell you the history of who was in charge, at the time, the pendulum swings both ways here. Ronald Reagan was governor here for a while, and so was Jerry Brown (twice). So you tell me. Probably neither of those.
I was at CA fish and game commission meeting when they illegally put wolf on state endangered species list. Law states it had to be a viable species to be considered and OR-7 was only wolf in the state. An older but not wiser ladies raised her had and said'I can't wait until my grandchildren can play in my backyard with a wolf" a gentleman cowboy shot back with "I can't either.

I’m siding with the cowboy on this one.
