When will you be in the area? The kayaks will be great for smallmouths in the bay. Those ought to tow the GKs around for awhile. You may want to check with a guide to get the kids out after the walleyes, though. Long way to paddle and the bay is pretty big and can be intimidating. Trout and salmon on the lake side. Lots of charters available for those off the East side of the Door out of Bailey’s Harbor or Sturgeon Bay. Hope this helps some.

Good luck and good fishing.
Camped at Peninsula most of my life. Kayak out of Nicolet Bay. Big weed bed straight from the boat launch has produced decent perch over the years. Tenneson Bay has been better for sallies, but you need a calm day and a long paddle to get over there. The “hurricane” hole at Horseshoe Island has produced a variety of species. Walleye are farther out in the bay, unreachable by novice kayakers. A guide with a Great Lakes boat can put you on those.
