Scum And Scale Remover.
I always wipe my boat down after using it, but over time I still get a white build up on my lower unit at the water line; water spots on the cowling too.
I've probably tried 20 different products and never could find anything that would work easily. I could always get the nasty stuff off but it always took a lot of scrubbing. So the other day I was at Home Depot to pick up some Gel Gloss (the stuff in the pink can) because I really like it for polishing the boat, and by coincidence there was this stuff called Eliminate Shower, Tub and Tile Cleaner in the same display, so I figured what the heck. I was a little skeptical since it's biodegradable, but I took it home and tried it. It took me about 4 times of spraying it on and wiping it off (with very light scrubbing) and in like 5 minutes, the motor looked like new. This stuff is by far the best i ever used for cleaning hard water residue.
I didn't get any before and after pictures because I didn't really expect it to work...Can't wait to see what it does in the shower :)

It’s great in the shower I also use grease lighting which I have found to be better in cleaning all things
