Vertglas Gelcoat Restorer.
Is your gelcoat in need of a face lift ? well my choice was Vertglas. My boat had been subject to sitting out in the weather for two plus years and was beat up badly by the sun. I had resigned myself to go the sanding and buffing route when I came across some guys talking about a product that did a fantastic job for them. I inquired about the product and the rest is history.
If you would like a much easier way to restore your gelcoat, I suggest you give vertglas a try.
For seventy dollars and a couple of hours work, you can make that gelcoat look brand new again. Now of course this product will not fill in scratches or chunks take out, but it will remove any oxidation and leave you with a like new shine, and protect the finish from future oxidation.
This product is a three step approach.
Step 1 is Vertglas Oxidation Remover:
In the kit you receive is contained a "scrub" brush which is similar to a white scotch brite pad. Take this pad and the bottle of remover and start with an area approx two to three square feet and just work the remover in. When you rinse off the area you will be amazed at the oxidation that just washes off. You may continue to do small areas until the entire boat has been completed. With that said remember it dose take some amount of scrubbing, but not even near the same amount of sanding it would require.
You will be left with a dull but de-oxidized finish.
Step 2 is Vertglas Boat Wash:
Also in the kit you will find a bottle of boat wash. This step is pretty self explanatory. Wash your boat.
Step 3 is Vertglas Sealer:
Supplied in the kit you will find a applicator that is realy nothing more than a piece of chammy on a stick. With this applicator you will use the bottle of sealer supplied. apply only enough sealer to cover a small area. I suggest you do a small area then move down do another small area while you wait for the first area to dry. after approx 5 min to dry your ready for a second coat. After the third coat you wont belive the shine that you now have on youe gelcoat.
In summary let me just say that Vertglas is a great product for the money and it dose a great job. It is recommended that you re-coat your boat annually with one or two coats as it will wear down with washing and wiping but I would highly recommend this product.
