It's important to remember that as women age it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of house cleaning as when they were younger
If this is happening to your wife, try not to yell at her.
Some women are over-sensitive and there is certainly nothing worse than an overly sensitive woman.

My name is Bob,let me tell you how I handled this very situation with my dear wife,Betty.

When I retired,it became necessary for Betty to get a full time job to go along with her part time one.
This was for both extra income and to pay for our health benefits that we needed.
Now ,shortly after she got the full time job ,I noticed that she was beginning to tire easily.
I usually got home from the golf course,or from a fishing trip about the same time she got home from her jobs
Although she knew how hungry I was,she started needing time to rest before preparing dinner
I did not yell at her, instead I just told her to rest some and to wake me from my nap when she got dinner on the table.

Now I generally have lunch each day at the golf club,or a steak house at the lake, where I fish,so eating out in the evening was no option
I was always ready for some good old home-cooked grub when I got home.
Betty used to do the dishes and clean up the kitchen as soon as we finished eating
But it became not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours before she would get around to taking care of the job.
I diplomatically reminded her several times that that they couldn't clean themselves
Betty must have appreciated my encouragement, because she would finally finish up in the kitchen, just before we retired for the night.

Another symptom of aging in women is the complaining they do.
For example Betty said it was difficult for her to find the time to pay our monthly bills during her lunch break.
But I took Betty for better or worse,so I just smiled and offered her encouragement,I told her to just stretch it out over two or three days.
that way she wouldn't have to rush so much.I also diplomatically reminded her that missing lunch completely once in a while, wouldn't hurt her any(if you know what I mean)

Tact is surely my strongest point!!

Another thing, when Betty was doing simple jobs, she seemed to need rest periods. She had to take a break when she was only half finished mowing the yard.
Now,I didn't make a scene,I'm a fair man.I just agreed that a short rest would be good for her before she finished the mowing ,edging, and trimming of the yard.
Then I told her(after she is finished) to fix herself a nice cold glass of iced tea,and as long as she is in the kitchen anyhow,to bring ma a cold bottle of beer

I know,I know,You women on Opp think I'm a saint, the way I supported Betty during her hard times.
I'm not saying that showing this much patience and consideration was easy, but many men would have found it difficult, some would have found it impossible
No one knows better than I how frustrated women get as they age,and guys,if you use just a little more tact and criticize less, your aging wife because of this article,
then I will consider my time and effort in writing it,well spent. After all we should all help one another.

Editors note;

Bob died suddenly on July 10th,of a perforated rectum.
The police report stated that he was found with an extra long golf club(a driver)jammed in his rear end, with only about five inches of the grip showing, and a sledge hammer laying close by.
Betty was arrested for murder, and at her trial, the all woman jury took only 10 minutes to completely exonerate her, accepting her defense that Bob had accidentally sat down on the golf club.

you might say---A hole in one!!!--so to speak.
