I recently oredered just the rod alone but idk what spinning reel to purchase and what to use for the lead and line any suggestions im a newbie to fishing??? Btw forgot to add that its the spinning ugly stik rod

So I recently switched to pfluegers. The president line I have the blue which I think is just president and the red which are president xt’s. The red seem tougher but the blue ones seem smoother. I think both are great and depends on how much you want to spend. As far as line goes I’m not sure.

No problem! I asked the same question a few months back on spinning reels. The majority was pflueger president suggestions.

Uglystik gx2 was my first rod! You don't really need anything pricey on an uglystik. You can totally buy a nice reel to have for awhile, but if it were me, I would put something like a 3k size Pfleuger President or even a Pfleuger Trion. I've owned both reels and they are great. I have a Trion that had been super abused (I fell in a river and smashed it into rocks, and it's been submerged several times in the same river) and runs just as smooth as new. I currently am using the President XT 2000 size, and it's a great reel. Very strong and can horse in some serious fish.
Edit: just realized I was assuming you are bass fishing. What kind of fishing will you be doing?

Berkeley trilene big game or XT are tough lines. As far as mono goes it’s hard to beat. Now on your spinner, first time line you might consider the trilene XL because it’s a limp line with less memory, it’s just a little plus. Braid? If you must.
