I think that is a great idea, go for it, April. Don't forget the beer.
Where are you fishing? Uwhere Sinking Creek enteres the Ohio should be a good spot, and accessible, too. What bait are you having success with?
I used red worms or premo super sticky and stinky.. sometimes creek chubs.. I fished there a few nights ago and burned them up.. I was at the boat ramp in stephensport where sinking creek spills in.. went back two days later and caught one so small I didn't even know it was on my line.. it was about 4 inches long.... Asian carp jumping like mad and I seen a gar.. usually that means fish won't bite from my experience.. red worms is my go to bait always reel em in
Beer.. nah I'm unsteady enuf lol.. but however flat bottom slow trolling on a warm night.. can't go wrong.. hopefully my luck changes soon cuz right now... boring lol
Beer.. nah unsteady and said to be unstable enuf already.. but I'll go for a slow troll on a warm night as long as my luck changes soon.. right now it's boring lol

The only way to catch is by having a line in the water. Keep after them.

April, go buy a Thermacell from Wal-Mart. It will keep the mosquitoes away. I know you have heard it before, but TRUST ME
It works.

I have the same gar experience here April. They are a nuisance along with the skate. I just pick up and move to another area. Takes to long for the action to come back after either species is in the area.
Fish with teethe freak me out.. i def move spots but I'm on high alert after that.. and if one is on my line.. we'll they can have it.. but I'm gonna try the paper mill tonight.. fish both Indiana and Ky waters hopefully I get that big kitty tonight.. happy fishing..
April, one of the fishing videos on u tube, the guy found the only thing he was catching on was chunks of Asian carp. This was after nightcrawlers, shrimp, sunfish whole and cut up, chicken breast marinated in cool aid and garlic. When he tried the carp, he could not get a break to keep other rods baited. If you get a chance, give it a try.
Good looking out I'm gonna try it.. most of he waters here are over ran with the carp.. not to mention straight aggravating..either the carp hitting my kayak or beavers smacking their tales right beside me.. guess not so boring with the occasional curse word flying out with my line.. happy fishing
