Tried to do some river fishing for smallmouth bass today. I got started a little late. (Didn’t reach the water until 10:00 am after driving for a long hour) The first place I went that I had never been looks good for some future trip, but it was just too windy today. The lure was blown at least 45* downwind from where I targeted. However, it did have a cement boat ramp that I will use next time someone goes with me. The second place that I had never been was so overgrown that I could not even see the river. Thanks to the team Lesson Learned - ON NEW PLACES FIRST USE GOOGLE EARTH.

had a bass pro tell me"The wind is your friend"
I told him I'd just stick with a gentle breeze

When that friend is blowing 35-50 mph, that friend and I are having an argument :)

Most of those bass fishermen lie, so you can't go by what they say.

I fish too much to have to go fishin when it's gonna be that windy. I like to keep it down to single digits if I'm goin out on the water. I hate tryin to fight the wind. Besides, if it's too hard it could get dangerous.
I also don't fish in the rain or when it's gonna get near 100*. If that makes me a fair weather fisherman then so be it. I still get to fish 2 or 3 times a week if I wanted to. Won't be long till I feel comfortable goin out that much again.

As good as you are at fishing you can afford to be a fair weather fisherman. Lol. Can’t wait for retirement so I can be a fair weather fisherman.
