OK sounds weird and am sure you'l tell me to use soft plastic or fake fur ones or seek professional medical help
Thinking when bass season opens in PA this 15th. I'd like to try to use real mice from the pet store (feeders) as live bait as an advantage. I already use feeder goldfish as live bait cheeper than minis and they hold up better.

So the question arrises how to keep the little buggers (mice) alive longer instead for just hooking them .
Do I rubber band them to the hooks or make a harness or or use velcro

In Arizona Goldfish were Illegal. They would take over the ponds and lakes if they got away. Cryoline IE Superglue would work for the mice. Biy Frogs work better, too bad you can't get Newts/Water Dogs for the Bass. They work really good. Used them when I was growing up in Arizona.

The best way I have found to use mice is hook them thru the skin on back of the neck and the place them on a piece flat board. Let the board drift until it’s near cover or wherever, jerk the mouse off and let it swim. Bass can’t resist.

I think you have a disturbed mind sir. Go watch the movie Scrooged. With your huge brain and technologically advanced rod, reel and line you think you need even more of an advantage over a hungry bass? So you intend to terrorize a little mouse like some demented pussy cat. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

100% correct. Fines up to $50 per goldfish in your possession.

Spirit, when most anglers fail to conquer the bass they resort to ways not normally used. Think about it, mono is why I’m not catching fish, need to use fish attractant, my lures don’t catch fish anymore, my rod is not sensitve enough, my reel is too slow. I personally don’t want to eat a fish that eats rats. Thing is the fish do get lots of pressure but as anglers we have become impatient and we don’t fish anymore we just cast and cast with no sort of useing the lure to do the work. We need to change our skill set not get so desperate as to use rats or baby ducks. Just my opinion guys.

Twice that I can remember I wanted to catch the one I could brag on but I didn’t resort to really odd baits. A simple plastic worm caught my two biggest bass. I’ve also lost what could have been even larger bass on the plastic worm. All it takes is that one cast with whatever bait to change your life in that moment.

Plastic/rubber worms. They've been working since the 50's and they still work today. Fish are stupid. So are we.

Fish really are stupid. I set a perch trap in a stream days ago and caught around 20 or 22 small perch an shad. All I needed. Rather than lug the trap home I placed It in the stream in deep water so as to hide it till later. No bait what so ever. Couple of days later I went back to bait and set the trap. Got the trap back to the bank and it had 9 fish in it. No bait they just went in.
