I caught this flathead last night around 9:15. I caught it on a live bluegill around 7-8 inches long. Fished till 11:30 but only had two bites, both at the same time. The other rod had a 3-4 inch live bluegill but got hung up in a brush pile.

WOW RB, that's one nice cat. If you's only gonna catch 1, that's was a good one to catch.

You don’t get a lot of bites when fishing for flatheads, but it’s quality over quantity. One thing for sure, it was a beautiful night. No wind, no clouds, lots of fire flies and the sasquatchs didn’t bother me either!

Nice catch Rb, nasty looking guy. But some good eats there.

So how do you rig the bluegill so they will bite it? I use fish parts on bottom but never used live.

Thanks guys! I put the above the spine a ways and between the dorsal fin and the tail! They will live for a long time.

I used a 4 ounce slip sinker and I use a cigarette butt with a clove hitch with an extra loop in the middle.
