Is it lures or live bait? Was the fish a very aggressive bass?

Metal boat and always have the .45 for just those occasions. Stay safe out there.

As wonderful as the .45 is, I have switched to 10mm. It is about like a .41 magnum with 9 rounds and can be reloaded in mere seconds.

Nice! But with (6) .45’s I will probably never switch at my age. Love my Kimbers and Sigs.

I am left handed and though I own and carry both a Kimber 9mm and several SIGs, I have fallen in love with my new 10mm. I take it to Brother-in-law's ranch and use it against a steel plate. I like the feel of the SIG.
No safeties to dink around with. Being left handed should qualify me for a minority status.

But the old .45 has more knock down power. Slower moving slug just for that. That is what they forgot when they switched to the 9 mm. 7 in the clip and one up the spout is 8 rounds. And lots more safeties. LOL
1/2 cock, button, and grip. Just my Opinion though. For other than people 9 mm and 10 mm or good.

I carried a SIG .45 for thirty years. Still love that weapon and keep it close. The 9mm is, in my opinion, just a small hand gun that can be carried easily. I have more respect for my even smaller frame .22 Beretta. I have seen more people die from being shot with a .22 than any other caliber. At autopsy, it is apparent that the little .22 travels easily and bounces from organ to organ. Makes an internal mess.

It is hard to beat the out and out stopping power of the .45 caliber Colt ACP's and the .45 long colt, but I do believe that the Browning .50 BMG may work a little better out past 50 yards.

I love the extended range of the 10mm, and it is a feral hog killing machine. And, again, I hate external safeties. Being left handed is a true handy-cap. Even though Kimber and a few others are making ambidextrous safeties.

50 BMG is good! They are now prohibited for big game hunting - but who in their right or left mind would want to? 😂 stay safe out there

"I love the extended range of the 10mm, and it is a feral hog killing machine."

my thought for that would be a .308 or 30 cal for ranged, and a 12 gauge pump for close work with #4 shot.
Of course after the 12 gauge, there is going to be a lot of mess where the hog was. BTW for those that don't know, the #4 shot is just about the size of a BB. At Close range will blow a hole just about through the hog, as well as stop it in it's tracks.

If I were hunting a wounded lion, (African) I would want a 12 gauge riot shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot.

Shotguns really do get someone's attention. The 10mm semi-auto is bunches of fun, both to attack and kill steel plate, and to shoot feral hogs. If I wanted to shoot a deer at a reasonable range, I wouldn't hesitate.
I'm just not that mad at any of the deer on my brother-in-law's ranch. He would hit me in the face if I let a hog get away from me. And I do not like to be hit!!!

The .308 is a fine cartridge and far be it for me to say anything bad about it, but I am a magnum man myself. For real, I have a 30x378 Weatherby my wife bought me back in the mid eighties, and I have killed many deer with it. No, it does not explode and blow the deer to pieces. The bullets made for that caliber rifle are made to penetrate thick skinned stuff. It uses about 1,000 pounds of energy on the deer, and the other 5,000 pounds of energy on the tree behind the deer.

I got the first Weatherby Accumark 30-378 that came into the state. Absolutely love the caliber. Had watched Weatherby as they were developing the caliber and just had to have one. Son wanted it so he now has it. I think he has killed all his elk with it. I went to a Christensen Arms carbon fiber in the 30-378. Grandaughter shot her first bull (5x7) with it so ,with my two sons blessings , she will Soon be the owner of it. She said the only thing she wanted from us was my rifle. Pretty neat I thought. I have both of my grandfathers and my dads hunting rifles and cherish them.

What ever else you have done in your life that may have been bad, you are a wonderful man!!! I am too old to really need a 30x378, but I still may buy myself one anyway. Weatherby does not make the 30x378 carbon fiber in a lefthanded model, but I have no one else in my family that shoots left handed that I could leave it to.

I gave my best hunting buddy, my second son, a Weatherby .378, and a year later he married a woman he met in a beer joint and she poisoned his mind against his two other brothers and his mother and I. If I do buy a 30x378, he won't be getting it.

Another magnum man and an elk hunting family. I hope your granddaughter loves that rifle as much as I know you do. Chicken fried, thin sliced, elk round steak. Em, em good. Have a bunch of good ones!!!

The Christensen Arms 30-378 was built on a pre-64 Sako action with Christensens carbon fiber wrapped barrel and I have a Swarovski 4-16x50 tactical scope on board. She is very much in love with it as it was a long range heart shot - one shot and done! Bog pod for a rest and a Swarovski range finder. She had never shot that rifle before she had only been shooting my 257 Weatherby. She did good!
