Just recently bought the camo Lews all American in 6’6” is this too small or will it be enough to catch decent fish? Worst case scenario I buy a 7 foot rod to replace it. Already have a 7 foot black max which I like a lot

Length doesnt effect how big a fish you can catch. Length is usually a result of intended use/application. I can find rods from 6'-10' all made to catch the same fish. Just depends on the situation I'm fishing in that would determine which one of buy. In fact I have 7' and 12' rods for catching the same fish. Also have 7' and 9' rods for catching another species.
Tldr; the rod will work just fine.

Gotcha. Didn’t know if it would make that much of a difference when it comes to strength of the rod

Only thing that impacts rod strength is the power rating and the quality of the blank. Only thing youll probably notice is more casting distance if you go longer. But unless youre doing something pretty specialized, dont go over 7'3"

Gotcha so the one I just bought is medium heavy, same as my abu Garcia. So essentially they should feel similar in the strength of the rod?

It's fine. I've caught alot of fish with rods that long. Shorter rods are more precise when casting. Longer rods came to be because of longer pitch casting and larger hook diameters needed to get bass out of heavier junk. If you took a bunch of different sized sewing needles and pushed them through a towel you'll find the biggest needles take the most force to push through. Now imagine the towel being a fish's mouth. A longer rod generates more force to drive those big hooks home. As long as your not using 5/0 or above sized single hooks, oversized crankbait, huge top water, or swimbaits, you're good.

Yeah I’m just using 1/4 jigs and 3/0 Texas rigs so I should be ok

6'6 for canoes and yaks. 7+ for shore banging here. Its more about what you perfer. I look for a more compact setup depending on the situation. Somtimes you wana run a longer rod ofr trolling and stuff But yeah it should catch fish just the same.

I have a 4.5 model 140 Fenwick [Fen Flea] with an Alcedo micron loaded with 6lb. I keep it behind my truck seat. I landed an 11lb bass with it. 6.5 will do fine.
