St Croix Bass X rod

This is my first post on here and I just have a question regarding those who buy and use St. Croix rods. The set up I have been using for about the last 6 years (not St. Croix products) used to be my dads and is pretty old, everything has worked fine for a rod and reel that is 23 years old but luck has it that right at the beginning of the season (I'm from WI) that a part of the reel broke when I was fishing last night and the bail is difficult to use now. Being that I'm out of high school and my summers have freed up I wanted to get back into fishing often and want a nice set up that I can use for years to come.

After talking to a few friends and doing research of my own I decided to buy the Bass X 7'1'' medium fast spinning rod from St. Croix when I went to order it on the St. Croix website it said that it is out of stock. Just wondering if anyone knows how often they usually release new stock for certain rods so I know if I should buy off amazon or if they will have new product soon and I can wait to buy straight from them. If anyone has any other input on the Bass X rod or St. Croix in general, feel free to share. Thank you in advance and good luck on the water.

Try tacklewarehouse.com. If not in stock it should tell you when they get more plus you can read reviews from other customers on how the rods done for them. Perhaps this COVID junk is messing up when new rods are made and shipped.

I second the Tack Warehouse option. The fishing industry was not ready for this pandemic. I think it is more along the lines of "we didn't intend to sell this much equipment this fast." I was at academy the other day and their fishing section was picked clean. Same with Walmart and Bas Pro.

Outdoor recreation is booming right now. My local bike shop said this was the busiest he has been in 40 years of business.

I just went and looked and Tackle Warehouse has them in stock. I've talked to St. Croix customer service a couple times the last month and they are way behind because of corona. They can't give a definite date on when they will have anything back in stock.

Definitely don't buy from Amazon. They have some of the worst shipping on rods I've ever seen. I've never purchased one from there, but I've seen the pictures lol. As far as input, I personally don't like St Croix, but they have amazing craftsmanship, and their warranty is easily a top 3 in the industry, so that has a lot of value imo.

I consider myself a St. Croix guy. I have three in my boat at the moment and probably not going to change for quite awhile. I recently caught my PB of 8.8 lbs on a 6'8" med/light fast action with no problem at all. For throwing heavier lures or cast into weeded areas, I have a 6'8" med/hev fast action, works great. Good luck! Got two from Bass Pro, and one from Tackle Warehouse.

Where in WI are you from? Lots of stores carry them like Those mentioned above, but Farm & Fleet and Scheels or Gander Outdoors May offer additional options for you as well. Good luck.

And the new right sided approach has caused gun sales to sky rocket too. 👍

I am a St. Croix guy myself. FishUSA has them in stock for 109. Bass X are good rods but I would suggest spending a little more and get the MOJO Bass. But the fish aren't going to complain either way :-)

Wait for BassPro to put them on sale. I bought one for $100. St. Croix makes fine rods.

Tackle warehouse is great but they are backed up . My order just got shipped yesterday , I placed the order a week and a half ago . My experience with Amazon has been great , I ordered rods and they were packaged correctly and received on time .
If time is an issue might try Amazon . Don t miss understand Tackle Warehouse has the latest stuff and in general has great service .

Try FishUSA before Amazon. I have gotten better prices and great service from those guys!
