I am 72 years old, do i need a fresh water license and a trout stamp???
You would if you were in Wisconsin. Not much of a break for us old farts, I'm afraid.

In New Jersey you are good to go. Just carry ID. Don’t forget the saltwater registry if you fish salty.
Think Kansas charges 1/2.
If you have an NJ driver's license and are fishing in the Garden State you have all you need to fish freshwater legally.
We get a bit of a senior break, but it's still expensive. I purchase a senior fishing license, Great Lakes trout stamp, regular inland trout stamp, deer license (X-Bow and rifle along with black powder) and small game. Takes care of a $100 bill. Oh, well.

S.C. 64 years old you get a life time for $9.00s. Fresh , salt, hunting, big game, wild life management, trout line crabing .
In Oregon if you have been a resident for 50 years it’s 5 bucks.

Welcome to the Forum, foulhook. I would check with DNR to be sure. There is no excuse for not knowing the law.

In Missouri at 65 and on up don't need a fishing license but you still have to buy a trout stamp.
I think Kansas is the same way. But I'm not 100% sure.
No matter what age here have to buy fish hooks.

Are you required to use them and get fined if you don’t?😜

We were talking about fishing license and trout stamps. What's fish hooks gotta do with licenses or trout stamps? Besides, I'll use the hooks in my tackle boxes first.
Delaware just needs a picture ID and a fin number. Fresh and salt same license.
