Fished a club tournament Saturday 5/16 on Fayette County Lake near LaGrange, TX. This is a small power plant lake that has slot limits so we fish paper tournaments using state provided weight charts. Tremendous storm Friday night but stopped with the rain and lightening just before our 6:30 AM launch. Caught this girl early afternoon on a Texas rigged stick worm. 20.5" at 6.06 lbs paper weight. Partner and I had two five fish limits totaling 32.21 lbs. Beautiful day on the water if a bit breezy. Had the weirdest thing happen. Caught a 19" bass and when my partner laid the net down it spit out a mangled baby bird. Gross, but she was still hungry and ate my worm.

Nice fish SO Cook, When you average 3+ lbs per fish on any day you are having a good time on the water. Thanks for sharing

I don't understand that "paper weight" concept. Don't matter, looks like you all had a great day on the water and we do appreciate you sharing the photo.

So I can't type. Plus I was excited! To explain Paper Weight Tournaments. The State of Texas and other states I understand have measured and weighed thousands of fish and have produced a chart that lists fish lengths in 1/8th in increments what the bass should weigh on average. This is a cheaper method than having each boat provide a scale like they use in the Major League Fishing tournaments. The teams measure on an approved stick. Some lakes, especially power plant lakes have slot limits. This means you cannot keep a fish even to take to a weigh-in between 14" and 21" (on this lake). So we measure the fish, record on the chart, and release the fish( after photo op, of course). We then use the chart to convert the lengths of each fish to pounds for our best five fish. That is each partner and team total. This allows Texas Parks and Wildlife to manage the lakes for quality fishery. The power plant lakes run a little warmer due to the plant hot water discharge so the spawn cycle is usually a little earlier than other lakes in the area. For you trivia buffs, La Grange, TX is about 90 miles south east of Austin. It is the former location of the infamous "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" of western lore.

Say that play in NY. Loved that song. Hard Candy Christmass . After watching it I was not fond or Dolly,s version. It was not sung by just one person.

I saw "best little whorehouse" stage production at a theater in San Diego before I saw the movie. The live production was way better, and the movie was pretty good. Hard candy Christmas and I Will Always Love You were not in the live one.

You're right Gordon. I just looked at the list of songs from the original Broadway production and Hard Candy is the last song on the list. Whenever I hear it I always think of Dolly.
