Fred and St. Peter

A certain fisherman named Fred, known far and wide for his tall tales and wildly exagerated fish stories, has an accident while fishing, whacks his head and drowns ! He's at the Pearly
Gates trying to get in when St. Peter spots him and comes
right over to him - "Fred !?! What are YOU doing here ? You can't
get in here ! There's just no way I could let you in here with all the great big whopping lies and fish stories you've told all your life ! What were you even thinking, showing up here ? That you
could finagle your way in ?" -
Fred, more than a little distressed and disappointed, looks up at St. Peter from the foot of the Gate
and tells him - "Aw, c'mon, Pete ! Give me a break, would ya ?
After all, you were a fisherman once, too !"
Gates trying to get in when St. Peter spots him and comes

True ! They probably do (or
did ) ! With old age comes memory loss, dementia, alszheimer's, etc., so some
of us just may not remember

You know what? I guess that if we were good fishermen, we could lie about the fish we don't catch even if we aren't fishing. What a beautiful thought. If we just talk about our twenty pound pictures of the fish we caught, who's gonna know we are lying?
