Ok guys n gals I’m starting to become a lil better at this, however, since I’m only 5’ WITH shoes and I have T-Rex arms, is this a hindrance for me??? Should I sell it and purchase a smaller rod length??!!
Any help appreciated ty in advance!!

Are you comfortable with the rod? Does casting throw you off balance? If the answers are yes and no then have a ball. Go catch some fish and post the pictures.

That’s a good question sir. Personally,I think you would better serve yourself with a 6 or 6 1/2 foot rod. A light action rod in 6 1/2’ would fit you I think. Hey,go for it.

Most of us use rods that are longer than we are tall. If you are comfortable with it, use it. You won't cast as far with a shorter rod, but that isn't going to matter as much if you are fishing from a boat. If from the bank, use as long a rod as you can unless you are fishing under trees or some such.

You should be fine. While steelhead fishing i use 10' and 11' rods with no issues except catching tree fish every once in awhile. Good luck and catch a big one.

Hey guys the man has those 24” python hulk hogan arms. A 7’ rod with a baitcaster could be a problem for him. And we all have our little glitches.

It’s more wrist action than arm length for me. You could use a 12 foot rod just as a easy as a 5 foot rod. It’s not so much how tall you are as it is technique. My opinion. I’m 5’8” and use everything from a 2’ ice rod to a 12 foot surf rod and am pretty proficient with all of them.
