I am trying to find an oil or something to mix with flavoring to disguise my scent on any lure or plastic. I know what flavors fish usually go for, but what to mix flavors with? Any ideas, please post. God Bless Dan

If I think I’m having a human scent issue I’ll use anise spray.
An old timer when I was coming up told to just rub your hands on the ground or use some dirt on your hands before using baits. He said if I'm on a boat to use the saved dirt from my worms. Personally I don't use it. Never really noticed a difference. Either I'm catching or I'm fishing. Just my 2 scents (lol)

You just don't know how stinky some of these youngen are. Their human smell wafes out of the boat permeates the water and runs all the fish off for 1/2 mile! They need skunk scent!
Thats is some funny stuff right there.

I fished with an old guy that spit on every worm, minnow, piece of bait or jig he'd cast and he always out caught anyone he fished with. He said it was for luck.
Did he have a wad of chewing tobacco in at the time ??? If so I'll try it tomorrow morning.
Thanks for the info, I am laughing and learning at the same time. I have the urge to come up with something that will work. At 66 years young, I am wanting to get back to being a serious Fisher. Year's of G-kids fishing, tackle tangling, fish removal, hook removal all while driving the trolling pattern has altered my fishing. Here I go. Dan
After dad caught his first fish throw back or not, he would rub his lure, jig or what ever he was using on the sides of the fish transferring some of the slime to the lure. Worked pretty good and don't remember him coming home fishless ever. Trick is getting that first one...

Fish might see you but I've never seen any proof that human scent has any effect on them.
I suddenly have the urge to start chewing again. Dang it,Red Man,Levi or beechnut? Like buying lures.

I'll bet a dollar to a donut after the first fish he caught he keep the practice up for luck. Just like the old man I knew that spit on his worms and lures and minnows. He said he did that for luck. Shoot I got lucky rods and lucky lures. I've got a rod I can't catch anything on so I give it to my granddaughter and she out fishes me with it. I tell her it's how she holds her mouth when she casts!
I’ve got that same dang rod.
