3-lb. crappie
One of you Georgia boys
should'a posted this article, since it came from your neck o' the woods ! This young feller caught himself a nice, big 3-lb. crappie
down in Barlett 's Ferry, Ga. !
Although I'm more of a trout and bass fisherman, I will admit that they're really fun if you hit a
school of 'em; one time, I did just that, and hauled in about 17 fish
in under 30 minutes, and several were near plate-sized fish !
Nicely done! Great catch! Thanks for sharing...

I’ve never caught a crappie, but that looks like it would’ve been fun. Is one that big good eating?

I’m with you on that Oz. Firsthand knowledge is always better, usually tastier too.

if you like fish it is
prolly the best tasting fresh water fish
I imagine some cat fish eaters might think otherwise

There aren’t a lot of places to catch crappie here in Utah, but I will have to go and try to catch some. None will be 3 pounds though that’s for sure.
Hi !
Here are a few places in
Utah that have black crappie; it seems like white crappie are comparatively rare in your
state ! Since your given location
is somewhat vague, it is hard to
say which may be closest to
you, but there should be several
of the following that are within reasonable driving distance !
1- Deer Creek Reservoir
2- East Canyon Reservoir
3- Echo Reservoir
4- Gunlock Reservoir
5- Holmes Creek Reservoir
6- Newton Reservoir
7- Pineview Reservoir
Hope this list helps; there are other locations of course, such
as Utah Lake, Lake Powell, and some Community lakes/ponds !

Thanks Big A. I’ve fished East Canyon a few times. I wasn’t actually aware there were crappie in there. I’m going to have to do some studying on how to find and catch them specifically. I went ice fishing at Pineview this last winter. We got into some perch, but my grandson stepped in his hole and we had to leave too soon. I knew there were crappie there.
I’m a catfish eater by birth and I’ll be honest with you. It don’t,don’t get any better than white perch. OOOPS. Sorry coon I meant crappie. Nice fish!
Oh, I thought you meant sac-au-lait, lol!
I’m just not good with foreign languages, sorry!
It's Louisiana, lol! Maybe it is foreign:-)
I heard an old cajun talking about how he had crawfished "all over these United States!" and he started naming the places. Every place he named was in Louisiana, lol! Then he said, "I even crawfished in Mississippi!"
