Have you ever been on the road and see some idiot do something and you say, "Where is a Cop when you need one"? Well I have and one time, he was there. I was approaching a spot up ahead where the right hand lane has to merge left and become a real Bottleneck and before that a ways, the speed limit drops from 60 to 50 MPH. I had just gotten into the left lane and dropped my speed close to 50. Then a car zooms up from behind lights flashing on the horn and riding my bumper wanting me to get back in the right lane so he could go thru instead of him pulling out and going around me. I watched him on my ass having a fit jogging back and forth and riding my bumper. Finally he gave up since he realized I wasn't going to move my F250 Diesel and he jogged to the right hand lane and got rubber and burned past me, giving me the finger and right on his tail was a State Patrol Cruiser that he didn't see, who had been right behind him, because he was focused on me having his fit! It sure felt good to pass him a little ways down the road, stopped on the shoulder with the trooper behind him!!!

I will add a one time for me as well. Doing just above the speed limit which was 40 mph on a paved country road and in my mirror here comes a car on my tail. While approaching a slight hill that we couldn't see over and of course a double yellow line the yahoo passes me.

Just as he is to my left, Cop comes over the hill steers to his right and misses the on coming. Yahoo speeds up and cop gets on the horn for me to pull over. He flys by me and catches yahoo. Bewildered I am while waiting to hear what the cop has to say to me.

Just want your name and # to be a witness is all he said. Chalk 1 up for me and Yahoo 0.

I'll add one more. Back thirty some years i was driving on a local two lane on the way to church. As I'm going down the road I came to an intersection that enters in a Y angle and I see a car coming pretty fast. Didn't worry to much since he has this big red stop sign standing there. Next thing I know he blows right through at about 60, and I'm there standing on the brakes. I'm about ready to open my mouth and all of a sudden there is a green and white flash goes by. A local cop was right behind me and nailed that sucker. And my smart @$$ wife waved as we went by.

Yeah I don't trust stop signs or flashing red stop lights any more. Especially when we're out on the Bike. I've seen way to many blow right thru with their phone up on the wheel, thumbs going wild, texting away!

Just one more, please.
Back in the late ‘70’s, while living in Lawrence, we were building houses in Olathe, which is about a 30 mile drive of 4-lane Highway. My dad and I worked together, so we often rode together. One winter morning we were on our way to work after a fairly heavy snow (about 4” on the highway). It was really slick, but we were in a 4-WD pickup doing about 40 mph, when a large sedan went FLYING past us in the inside lane.Dad said “WOW, that guys sure in a hurry”. He must have been doing at least 60.
Well....less than a minute later, we saw a huge “cloud” of snow ahead and when we caught up to it, there was the sedan, sitting down in the center median facing the opposite direction, and buried in snow. Dad and I looked at each other, laughed, and drove on to Olathe. ( yeah I know; not very Christian-like) Sorry Buddy ......

He was out of his car, so we knew he was “alright”. Figured a nice long walk in the snow would do him good. Just cain’t fix stupid....
