Back to fishing again, that is! Been away for over 20 yrs due to life, location, and who knows what else. Grew up fishing for flounder on the east coast, moved to Colorado and often took the kids trout fishing as they were growing up. Retired late last year, moved to Virginia and am now getting ready to respool my reels and start casting again! Really looking forward to it.
Great forum, by the way-- lots of good info and camaraderie
welcome back BC Va is a wonderful place to be depending on where you are but good fishing I usually ran out of the James River right under the bridge and some nice big crockers and mullets

Welcome BC hope you enjoy retirement as much as I do
Thanks, Cam. Took a little to get used to it but after 5 months and a move cross country I am finally starting to relax!

Hi !
If you're new to Virginia and
love bass fishing, you may want
to investigate Briery Creek Lake, over in Farmville !
Yes, it's a good drive (2-1/2 hrs.)
from your location, but is probably your very best bet for a trophy-sized largemouth !
If you're more into saltwater, then you're in a pretty good location for both ! Good luck
and tight lines, whatever your preference may be !
Welcome. Sounds like you've got things well in hand, and know what you are doing. Respooling makes sense given the age of your old lines. I know little or nothing about fishing in VA. Ordinarily, that doesn't keep me for offering advice, but I'll let others who live close and know more help with that. Just Sayin...RJS
Thank you, Robert. If you ever see me in the forum don't hesitate to chime in!
Thanks for the welcome! Our daughter and son- in- law live in Long Beach!
