I don't want to be tying knots or buy a 4th rod ant want to switch from top water lure to popping cork. What's your thoughts on this speed clip ?
I tried them for awhile but never liked them. Not sure if it was because they were too small or my fingers to big. Hopefully you'll have better luck Plum.
Might be better if there was a way to incorporate a barrel swivel.
I guess you could put a barrel swivel on your line first then the speed clip.
I've caught plenty of fish on plain snap swivels. If you are using a topwater plug and making all the racket a popping cork type bait makes. I don't think they will see the swivel. They will be approaching from the rear.
Don't have any experience with the ones you got.
I have used breakaway clips and tactical angler clips. They held up fine stripers and bluefish. They come in different sizes.
Watch out for cheap clips. When I first started using speed clips I had a cheap one open right up. Lesson learned.
I've used them when I'm switching lures trying to determine the color the're hitting that time of day. They take some getting used to. Try them, you'll like them unless you have bad arthritis in your fingers. They would be hard to open up. I also like them on a Sara spook.

I can’t help you brother. Your title thru me off. Being an old pistol and revolver target shooter I thought you were talking about one of these. 😂

Yep them will put the lead after them
I use them every trip. Can change crank baits and blade baits in a flash. Can't go wrong in my opinion

Three dollars for ten. What a ripoff. Good ole snap swivels have a barrel built right in. Cuts down on line twist.
Quick change of lures....piece of cake.

Since I don't plan on being a tournament pro I don't see where these will be of any use to me. Half the fun for me is struggling with terminal gear with my arthritic fingers and near blind eyesight on these super thin lines.
Okay guys Thanks for the input and other suggestions. Didn't know what other options I had and Thanks to you all, if these speed clips don't work out I know what to look for.
Not a fan of the snap swivels, lost a few lures getting hung up and a few monsters straighten them out before. That coastlock barrel swivel looks interesting. I would have to see that up close, the pic on the web site just not doing it for me.

I have used them even before the hit for the public. Have to work with them till you can change quickly.
Other post are correct the smaller size with big hands make it hard but last I looked the do have 2 sizes.
I always have my cranking rod rigged with one and as far a strength I have put stripers in the boat over 30 pounds and Salmon at the 35 lb. range in a hard tide in the California Delta with no problem.
On some topwater baits I have used them in tournaments just as a time saver, no fished lost because of a failure. Lost fish because of my "bound-a-luck" or no net etc. LOL
Gluck if you use them, let us know what you think.
