I caught a monster in a spot real close to there. The best is when people are shocked you actually pull a fish out haha nice catch!

And they have every reason to be shocked! Caught this fish next to a syringe, a diaper, and a dead body lol

I keep telling my wife that I want to spend an afternoon fishing navy pier when we are in town visiting family. She tells me I'm nuts.

Can you eat them or is there too much pollution?

I love eating fish, and I especially love crappie. This is just not the source for me, but there are people that do it. There are plenty of signs along the river explaining the sewage run off situation plus the massive amounts of floating trash... C&R for me!

I haven't fished in Chicago but there are huge fish there. I don't know what species it is but I've seen their tails hanging out of coolers down near the lake. I always wanted to catch one but I know nothing about the fish and I hate Chicago.

People catch big carp in the river but what you’re talking about is likely king salmon in the fall which are fishable from the harbors along the lakefront. I’ve never done it but it’s pretty popular.

Little cold for me right now. I went for about 15 minutes a week or two ago in Waukegan harbor and couldn’t take the wind.
Last few times I’ve been at NP I’ve been skunked, but if you go at the right time you can kill them there. Wouldn’t eat anything out of the river though.
