Well you guys, I tried.lol I really did. Had a big one on for 30 minutes 104' of water he was #30 plus only bite all day. He blew his air out at 60' then made a run at the boat I couldn't reel fast enuff to keep up. Watched him in the fish finder separate from my jig. It wasn't his first rodeo. All n all a great day of fishing. Just not a day of catching. Only picture I got was of my buddy Henry while he was cooking us some fresh Kokanee for lunch.

Sorry egghead. But that’s some pretty scenery there and what could be better than fresh Kokanee for lunch? Yum

The lake is the Flaming Gorge. it's not always that calm lol. You don't want to see it when it turns white from the wind. It can get rough.lol

Flaming Gorge is on the Wyoming and Utah border in the Rocky Mountains. Big ole reservoir but there really are no fish in it (just dont want the word to get out about any fish). Almost always get a fish or six). A neighbor went out yesterday and the three of them hooked up 5 lakers all over 30# and 6 in the 15 - 20 # range. He fishes it 2-3 times a week in the early spring. This was just his 2nd trip this year with the shutdown that was just lifted on Friday on state waters. He had his son, brother and dad so wasn’t room for me. Boo-hoo-hoo! Said they caught theirs in 20-30 ft of water. I thought the spawn would be over by now and they would be out deeper. Guess that is why I am a fisher - not always a catcher. All I caught yesterday was 5 bows 2-3# and took me 4 hours. Didn’t get any browns, tiger trout or wipers that I went after. Just a small reservoir about 40 miles from me. They also planted 8” kokanee in it last year so hope they take off - they are my favorite to eat!!
