Hi Everyone,
From Charlotte but during the summer mom, my best friend Beth and I stay at our little place in Atlantic City, N.C. My dad started taking me surf fishing when I was about 10. Old fashioned I guess we never used lures. But none of the locals did either. Unfortunately I lost my dad to cancer a few years ago.

Now when I go out on the beach, the same locals always have me fish with them. They won't have it any other way. I won't lie, I enjoy there story's, joke's and they feel it's there job to look after me. Enough of my babbling. I've been watching a bunch of YouTube videos. Crank bait, top water lures, soft plastics the list never ends. But I don't want to insult the old guys by bringing lures into the picture. They have tought me so much and yes we catch fish.

Well zoey, here's what I think. You go out there and start throwing lures, you're probably gonna hafta take some heat from the old timers. Here's the thing though, you start out-fishing them geezers with your lure? They're gonna change their tune real quick. Hard to argue with what works. Just make sure it's gonna work, or you may end up with egg on your face.

I agree Zoey. Go ahead and take your lures out and try your luck. Who knows you might find they work better than the bait y'all been usein. HOWEVER, take your bait with you just in case. Just Sayin.

Welcome to the Forum, Zoey. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Your happy, they're happy, leave it as is. Use your lures someplace else. I think bait will out fish lures most of the time, but that's MHO.

Hey Zoey welcome to the stage and thanks for filling out your user profile. Sounds like you are into a good bunch of mentors at the beach. Hope we can pick up the slack here on the stage when you aren't fishing.

I couldn't find Atlantic City NC by chance do you mean Atlantic Beach N C ?

Good Morning Spirtof27,
True it does work, I guess my problem is I'm always worried about other people's feeling's.

Good Morning Saw1,
That sounds like a reasonable solution. Maybe just pick 1 or 2. They already make fun of me as it is. Not in a bad way, I have this thing about using live bait.

Good Morning Flyguy,
I'm leaning towards at least trying 1 or 2. If I don't do well with them, I tried.

Good Morning Plumbob,
My error, I sometimes rely a little to much on spell check. Sometimes I wonder if I should disable it. After reading past and current post. I have already learned a few things. It took me a few days to feel comfortable enough to jump in. But you all made it easier for me.

Nothin' wrong with that. You should do what ever you're comfortable with. The whole point is to enjoy yourself.
