Hats off to 3M – they were prepared. Based on prior experience with SARS, H1N1, Ebola, etc., they built surge capacity – idle machinery installed for emergency response. They kicked into max production on January 21st, doubling N95 mask production in 2 months to about 100 million masks a month. And, they have not raised their price of around 85 cents each. Unfortunately, distributors took advantage of supply & demand, price gouging up to $7 each – unconscionable. Hoping the gov brings the hammer down on them.

Along with the other price gouging fools.
People were blaming 3M. Others blaming the WH. None of them with any worthwhile fix's.

There is a worthwhile fix, but pointing it out would get me banned. PM me if you really want to know.

I am sure that if it is a constructive solution the admin would be very happy.
It is not only constructive, it is in my opinion, the correct solution. I've shared it with three other members through pm and I would be more than willing to share it with you.

My limited understanding is, China bought a bunch of them, from the US factories, before WE knew how bad it really was.
Then China would NOT let them, export the ones made in 3M's Chinese factories, but made them sell those to China also. It was NOT a 3M decision, or option.
That is what several news outlets said.

Go ahead. I just think that if it's about a fix and not about how it broke everyone would like to know.

I wont be holding my breath in responce to anyone doing jail time for being like this, nor do i believe all thats being fed to us, either. I will obey the stay at home ruling, as im on disability anyways. But as far as hoping that the right thing will happen...remember the bailout for the wall street boys and their financial buddies? Not even a simple stock trader was arrested , or formerly charged with a crime.
