Hello my name is Greg Silver...I fish mostly in the mountains of Western North Carolina where I reside but every fall my friends and family head for Topsail Island to enjoy surf fishing and also fishing the canals on the back side of the Island. Members of my family have been going around 30 years now...We are always looking for the trout run as well as redfish and various other species. Please share anything that you might know from this region... thank you

Good Mornin' Silverback, welcome to the Forum. We have a lot of members from N.C. but I don't believe any actually from Topsail Island. Once the members get out of the far1 sack you could get some pointers, we'll see. I know members don't normally respond to anyone that doesn't have their location posted on their post, so, if you would go back to your profile page and put your location, city, and state, down you may get more help.

Welcome Silverback. CDB is from western N.C. and fishes the coast some. I think he will be coming up on this post shortly.

Hello Greg nothing going on right now the Island is close down due to the virus. Some are saying it will open back up 29th of this month so we will see but the big boats are out and catching some mullets, spots, black drum and red drums you can visit their site and keep checking. I live about 5 to 10 minutes from the new bridge in Tidewater landing

The ramps run by the Wildlife Commission but owned by Surf City and North Topsail have been taken off the closed list on the Commission webpage. The Beach Access parking and cut-throughs , however, are still closed, according to the Wilmington paper.
