I used to catfish out there a lot, and I took my granddaughters out there a couple of weeks ago. Where do you go to put in? You ever run in to heavy snags like abandoned cars and refrigerators and such? Never been out there in a tube. I need to think about that. And what did you catch em on? I used to throw a white spinner and the bass seemed to like that a lot.

It was my first time there but we used senkos and texas rigged robo worms. Buddy got one on a white spinner bait but most were on worms and jigs.
We put in at a large pump area and got out downstream about a mile away. Two vehicles worked well to cut the walking. Water was cold (59-60) so the bite was sluggish.

I'm gonna probably go out there one day this week and try it. Lot of water in there right now. How was the current?

Sorry Spirit didn’t get your message till today-Happy Easter-barely any current at all. In fact, we ended up having to kick about a 1/2 mile due to the slow current not getting us where the truck was.

Time to pump up the tube, check for leaks. You ever fish for catfish out there coach? There are some big ones in there, but they're hard to bring in, so many snags in there and that's where they head for when they're hooked. I was out there one night cat fishing and a guy came by in his truck, had a striper in there, had to be over 4 feet. That must have been fun from the bank. I've caught turtles out there, seen guys frogging and the beavers would swim by and slap their tails on the water, scare the crap outta me. Wild and wooly place.

Wow! I can’t imagine any striper over 10-lbs from the bank as there isn’t much room between trees and open space to walk When they take off.
I’m going to take my wife and son there in the next couple weeks. Maybe we can get on some pan fish. My son is 6 and gets bored fast so hopefully “ fish-on” or rocks will be thrown! :)

I hadn't been out there in years until I just took the twins. Used to go out there and catch small catfish and bass like you caught, bluegills and even crappie, like all day and all night. Maybe the water needs to get a little warmer for it to really turn on. I remember going out there in the summer and the mosquitos would try to carry you off. Sit there on the bank with a lantern and be bombarded by bugs. I's out there one night and heard a mama pig and her babies rustling around and squealing. I left. Right after that I purchased a .40 cal side arm and carry it out there all the time. You never know.
